One week of Bell Ringers designed to advance students' vocabulary acquisition. These bell ringers are for upper elementary and middle school students. Directions and answer key are provided.
Day 1: Students will begin by reading a text to determine the meaning of an unknown word through context clues. Then, students will create their own definition of the word.
Day 2: Students will draw a picture of the new vocabulary word. This is designed to help students recall the definition.
Day 3: Students will create 3 sentences using their vocabulary word.
Day 4: Students will determine the part of speech and possible synonyms and antonyms for the vocabulary word.
Day 5: Students will take a quick quiz on a variety of vocabulary words.
