Students are asked to learn large amounts of terms in science so we as teachers have to find a way to make it fun yet still be based on learning the terms.
These Bingo boards have 24 vocabulary terms dealing with the plant kingdom and parts of the plants:
- Anther - Filament - Carbon Dioxide - Photosynthesis - Oxygen - Pistil
- Stamen -Vascular - Gymnosperm -Angiosperm -Pollination
-Roots -Xylem -Hydroponics - Chloroplast - Ovary -Sepal
and a few others...
There are 8 different bingo boards (so depending on the size of your class or the group with which you choose to play bingo, there may be some repeated boards). The full depth of learning will come if you not only call out the term but also just call out the definition, which is why I've also included a Definition sheet. Instead of just calling out "Root" you could read the definition and the students will have to use the definition sheet to find the word.
Bingo could be done at the beginning of the unit to get students introduced to the terms or it could be done as a review. If you didn't allow students to use the definition sheet then it will work as a review when you say the definition they will have to remember the word in order to make it on their bingo board.
The definition sheet can be cut up and used as the "chips" that you call out.
If you laminate the boards then you won't have to make copies year after year.
