This is a 2 part mini-lesson dealing with 12 defined vocabulary words presented in a Little Dictionary. Besides definitions, the pronunciations (or respellings) of the words are also provided. In the first part of the lesson, students find the base words (or root words) of the 12 vocabulary words. In the second part of the mini-lesson, students, apply the 12 vocabulary words into a humorous story context. Three forms of each missing word are given after each sentence, and students choose and then write in the form that makes the most sense. (The humorous story is about a child who dreams he is lost in a dark and pathless jungle after eating too many left-overs when cleaning up a messy meal.) Seven fun, colorful drawings of the left-overs are included. This product will serve as a good test prep, because it gives students practice in using sentence context and applying word skills. Good chance it will improve the vocabulary of some, too. This is a word document that will be easy to edit if necessary and easy to print off. The fifth page is the answer key.
