Vocabulary building is necessary for reading comprehension, but teachers need the word lists that are research-based for K-2. This kit of direct, interactive vocabulary instruction helps introduce and review Tier 2 Academic Vocabulary critical for high-stakes test prep (ex. NWEA Map, states assessing value-added, etc.). All you need is about 20 weeks at 20 minutes per week and your students will remember these words after learning with the visual "dictionary" of kid-friendly posters, emergent readers to encourage use and discussion of the words in a playful way, activities that incorporate close reading and writing, interactive notebook pages easy for little hands to cut and paste, and ready-to-color paper bracelets students love to wear and share to show off their new, fancy "big" words!
