What am I downloading?
This is a sample of my Rainbow Rubrics which are based off the Common Core Standards. It only shows one vocabulary standard. It is black and white so students can color in parts of the rainbow once they have met that section of the standard. If you like this product, please try my other Rainbow Rubric products that will cover: Print Concepts, Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Vocabulary, Fluency, and Reading Comprehension.
What is a Rainbow Rubric?
In my rubrics, a rainbow is broken into different colors to represent the sections of individual reading standards. The rubric also translates each section of the standard into examples.
How can I use them?
Teachers can use these rubrics as their personal check off list, quick assessments (exit tickets), classroom posters, or even student reference sheets. As a teacher, it helped me know which group of students were ready for the assessments and which part of the standard needed to be retaught.
How can my students use them?
Students are able to understand their teacher's expectations. Students can also keep track of which standard they are working towards and which standards they have met. In the past, I have printed them in black and white in order for my students to color in the part of the standard that they have met. When they have colored in the entire rainbow, they receive a small incentive. It also makes them feel prepared for the standard's assessment.
