Product Description
This game is aligned to the common core standards. It targets idioms, explaining answer choices, and making connections with vocabulary concepts to real world situations. This game can be used in for small group instruction, literacy centers, and therapy.

This game includes a game board, game pieces, and 36 cards to target idioms.

How to Play: Place the game board in the middle of the table. Separate the students into two teams. Shuffle the green cards and place them in a pile face down next to one team. Shuffle the brown cards and place them in a pile face down next to the other team. Choose a team to go first. One student from the team then draws the card from the top of the pile. The teacher or the student then reads the question on the card. Once the student answers the question they then receive the number of game pieces (brown or green circles) indicated at the top of the card (1, 2, or 3). There are two options for game play. The students can place the chips on the board after they have answered the question or you can use the game as the reinforcer at the end of the activity. If you choose the second option have the students hold all of their chips and wait until all questions have been answered, then the two teams can take turns placing one chip on the board at a time. With either option the object of the game is to get four of your game pieces in a row, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. The first team to get four of their chips in a row wins!
