This should be used with my "Vocab Context Clue Strategy" sheet.
For practice, the teacher fills in the "Word" and "Quote" columns, making sure there is enough context to decipher the word. The students then select two strategies from the strategy sheet to practice figuring out the word. Students are not allowed to use dictionaries. Instead, when completed, the teacher reviews the answers and tells students which words they need to reevaluate.
This assignment requires the use of two of the five strategies, ensuring that students don't "go with their gut" but rather make an educated guess.
