Seamlessly add vocabulary work into your Orton-Gillingham reading instruction.
This is a vocabulary unit suitable for struggling older readers. The words are all Open syllable words. You can work on this unit while your students are at the Open syllable stage of an O-G program (Level 5).
The first list has many one syllable words. The other lists contain mostly 2 and 3 syllable words. This can also be a stand-alone vocabulary program for any setting. It includes 3 dozen vocabulary words, broken into three separate lists.
This is a large packet of materials and includes:
Word sort headings
Word lists for teacher (full and simple definition)
Word lists for notebook (no definition)
Word lists for study (simple definitions)
Interactive notebook pages
Worksheets for List 1
Worksheets for List 2
Worksheets for List 3
Yes or No Question Strips
This is a way to fold vocabulary work into your Orton-Gillingham style remediation program. Show your older struggling readers that not all Open Syllable words are babyish!
