A classroom FAVORITE! My students can't wait for this activity each week! My students do it as a warm-up during the week of the selected story and ask to do it over and over again!
This is a powerpoint presentation of vocabulary words from Lesson 3 in Journeys 3rd Grade. There are eight different moves for students to do between vocab words. There are two different phases - name the word by reading the matching definition, then name the word by reading a antonym of the word. The phases give two vocab words and then a workout break. There are two challenge words added to each round using two selected words from the story that are not vocab words.
Please note, the preview video may not match this lesson's words and clipart. It is an example of one of the lessons so you can see how my students interact with the game.
To play: There is an intro slide for each move to show the students what to do. Next, the screen moves to a definition or antonym. Students try to call out the vocabulary word before it is revealed. This happens twice and then they have a 10 second workout before the next definition or antonym is shown.
