Grammar: Sort cards into piles of nouns, verbs, and adjectives. I put a visual cue on each card to represent the correct part of speech. The children can then take turns and use a given word correctly in a sentence. I included a sheet that instructs the children to choose one word from each category (noun, verb, adjective) and then there is a space for them to illustrate what the word means to them.
Vocabulary: Have the children choose a card, say the word, give a definition of the word, and/or use the word correctly in a sentence.
You can choose a card and talk about the word with the group. The children can then illustrate the word by drawing a picture of what it means to them.
