The product contains a mix of 21 different graphic organizers, writing prompts, and partner work to help in your vocabulary instruction. Students enjoy using the different graphic organizers over the course of the year, and eventually have a choice in which graphic organizer they want to use to show their thinking. The pages are designed for 2nd grade students, but could easily fit into any K-5 classroom through the use of shared writing, small group instruction, and independent work. They are primarily used for vocabulary instruction in reading, but work very well in math, science, and social studies as well.
The product includes samples/an answer key at the end for how the graphic organizers might look once completed by the student or as a group. The graphic organizers are sized to be 1/2 of a page, so you can cut a notebook in half for students to glue the graphic organizers in, or students can fit 2 graphic organizers on one page.
In my classroom students have a separate vocabulary journal where they keep completed graphic organizers, writing prompts, and lists of their vocabulary words throughout the year. This is an excellent tool for students to see their growth over the course of the year. The product does not contain any fancy elements as I want the focus to be on their work.
