These are some quick cards I made for "The Nutcracker" by Tchaikovsky with key vocabulary words & their definitions (from classicsforkids.com). The beauty of this file is that I now can quickly edit the file and print of more/new cards to expand the game & my students Musical Vocabulary!
To make the cards: Print file on cardstock and/or laminate. (I did 3 sets for centers) and cut out cards, remember not to mix them up if you do multiple stacks, or your students will be very confused!
To play the game: students will mix up the cards & place them face down. One at a time they will flip over 2 cards until they have a match. When they have a match, they will remove the cards and set them aside to count at the end of the game. The person with the most pairs wins.
Alternatively, these can be used face up for younger students and they can search for the correct match. There are really a lot of options for this.)
Skills: Vocabulary (Nutcracker, Instruments, styles, etc.), memory, cooperation & patience.
