PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Teaching vocabulary - something necessary in all classes. Just giving words and having students look up definitions, though, doesn't require any higher level thinking or cognitive demand. Change the way you deliver vocabulary to students to move from a class that demands recall to a class that thinks critically about and actively processes the meanings and uses of new words.

This mini-lesson includes strategies that can be applied to any list of vocabulary you need to teach, regardless of course content. It is appropriate for middle and high school aged students and offers suggestions for differentiation to meet the variety of needs in the classroom.

Use this lesson structure over and over with new vocabulary lists.
