This is packet consists of four short passages. Two of which require students to use context clues to determine the meaning of words while the other two require students to fill in the blank with words from the list. Students tend to truly learn a new word best when they see it in a natural setting like a story rather than in individual sentence. That was the goal when I created these passages. The words used in this packet are brevity, characterization, cite, imagery, imply, infer, narrative, paraphrase, potent, and revoke.
