Tired of asking students to create flashcards for their vocabulary words? Need a way for students to organize the information about vocabulary words? These vocabulary squares helps students line up a definition, sentence, and a visual representation of each word all in one place.
You can pre-fill in the words or have students write their words from a list. Then, as students learn the definitions, they fill in the second column. The third column is for creating sentences that correctly use the vocabulary word. The final column is for students to draw something that symbolizes or represents the word.
Ways to modify: Fill in some of the squares ahead of time; reduce or increase the number of words assigned!
Other uses: Students can cut up and use as study aids. Teachers can cut up squares and have students match up for a quiz.
