What better way for students to apply context clues while CLOSE reading. Students must circle any unfamiliar words during first read of any given passage. Students can then record their findings and complete a pre-assessment on the words. Then during the second reading of the passage, student will apply context clues. (context clue graphic organizer coming soon). Student will then complete the post-assessment box. This is an excellent tool to use during guided reading, starting with a lot of teacher modeling and then providing guided practice. Students should gradually be able complete this task independently.
