Do you have students who are able to produce prevocalic/initial R, but are still working on developing those vocalic R sounds? This is the perfect activity for them!
One trick I often use in this situation is using their great prevocalic R productions to facilitate productions of R at the end of words.
Full instructions are included in the product, but the general idea is to have them say a vocalic R word, immediately followed by a prevocalic R word, then to slowly fade out the production of the prevocalic R.
I find this technique to be very effective and am typically able to fade out the facilitating word very quickly.
This set of webs includes a different web for each vocalic R sound (ar, or, er, ire, ear, air). Each web is in color, but is printer friendly for grayscale. Additionally, a blank, black and white web is included so students can make their own - and it makes for a great homework assignment!
Full instructions for the technique and how to use the webs are included.
