This fun game is meant to accompany the Voces Chapter 1 vocabulary list. Students play a game of chance while learning the vocabulary at the same time! More chapters to come as the school year progresses!
In order to play RAYOS, you will need to cut each card individually. Students take turns drawing a card out of a brown bag. They must correctly give the opposite word of the vocabulary that is written on the card. The other students decide if they were correct. If so, they can continue to draw as many cards as they would like to get more points. They can continue to draw cards and score points as long as they are correct.
This is a game of chance. Students can decide to continue play or they can put their cards in their bank. The risk is involved because during the same turn if a student draws a RAYOS card, they lose all of their points on that turn and must return all cards to the bag.
Play continues until all cards have been drawn from the bag.
Alternatively, you can have students keep track of their points and return all cards to the bag at the end of each turn.
