Voice Volume Visuals To Increase Self Monitoring Skills
PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SET IF YOU ALREADY OWN MY AAC Starter Kit
or my Behavior Visuals For Students With Autism.
*****All of these behavior visuals are included in those sets and I do not want you to spend extra money on visuals you already own. I separated these visuals for individuals who just need visual supports for voice volume monitoring.******
All the details about how to use these visual supports
Students with communication and social pragmatic delays
struggle with monitoring their voice volume in different social situations.
The voice volume visuals
can be printed, laminated and used with a dry erase marker during your lessons.
The voice volume thermometer on page 3 can be laminated or stored in a plastic sleeve. Use with any activity. Take data on how often the student exhibited the expected vs unexpected voice volume for the lesson right on the sheet.
The visuals on pages 4 and 5 can be printed and laminated. These are designed to be put on the student’s desk or at station tables. It is small enough to also take to other classrooms, the lunch room, recess or office. You can take data on the sheet as well or use it as an opportunity to visually show your students what voice volume they are using.
Before you start an activity or go somewhere, the teacher, SLP, OT, counselor can review the expected voice volume for the situation with the student.
You can also give the student hypothetical situations and have the student rate what level voice volume the person/student should be using for the situation.
