Teaching children how to monitor their volume is an important life lesson.
In order to support our students (especially our youngest students, our second language learners and our special education students), it is helpful to provide visual reminders of how our students can meet this expectation.
In this set, you will find the following I am statements…
Volume 0- I am not using my voice. I am working/thinking silently.
Volume 1- I am using an independent voice. I am whispering to my myself.
Volume 2- I am using a partner’s voice. I am whispering or talking softly to my partner(s).
Volume 3- I am using a speaker’s voice. I am presenting and/or sharing to my class.
Volume 4- I am using an outdoor voice.
The last page includes a reminder question: Are you using an appropriate volume? Thumbs up, Thumbs down.
Hope you and your students find these reminders useful. Have a wonderful school year.
Please note: If interested in a different option, please visit my store. I’ve created the same visuals using small/large stars, polka dots and a striped background. Also, your comments, feedback and/or suggestions are kindly appreciated.
