Integrate STEM in your classroom with Volcano STEM challenges!
Students learn the basics of volcanos and eruptions using 2 separate Science experiments.
In the Volcano Investigation, students predict which two substances, when mixed together, will create the largest explosion. In the Volcano Engineering STEM Challenge, students try to build a barrier to stop the flow of 'lava'.
Students plan, design, and execute their own ideas. After they have completed their activity, there is time for reflection on what worked and what didn't.
A writing extension is included for students to write more volcano facts and tell a story about volcanos.
Aligns with NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards).
