This unit delves into what a volcano is, how they form and where on earth they exist. It also discusses the different forms of volcanoes, types of lava and eruptions. Famous eruptions are discussed including Pompeii, Krakatoa and Mt. St. Helens. Internet video links are embedded into key pictures to offer footage of real life lava flows, 3D imagery of the earth's core and plate tectonics. Coordinating handouts and tests are also available. This unit is suitable for Elementary, Special Education or Life Skills Curriculum. This unit was originally designed for students in a Middle School Level Learning Support and Life Skill classroom.
