This hands on center activity engages students in the card game of "War" with a new math twist!
Each card of the 52 cards in the deck have an image of a cube or rectangular prism along with dimensions for length, width and height.
Students must calculate the volume of their cube/prism to determine which player has the great volume. The player with the greatest volume wins that round.
There is a recording sheet included, as well as an answer sheet to hold students accountable for playing the game correctly and computing accurately.
5.MD.5b. - Apply the formulas for V = L ' w ' h for rectangular prisms to find the volume of rectangular prisms with whole-number edge lengths in the context of solving real word and mathematical problems.
