Looking for a fun, engaging resource for finding the volume of cylinders, cones, and spheres? Why not give task cards a try?
Task cards are great to use in “Around The Room” activities to get students up and moving, in small groups, as test review, bell ringers, or partner work.
These task cards are based on real-life 3D shapes. Students will have to identify the shape in order to select the correct formula to answer the question.
Simple solving for volume questions.
Questions solving for radius, diameter, or length (including using cube roots)
Questions that require finding the difference or sum of two or more objects.
A question that is in scientific notation.
Questions require rounding to the nearest whole number, tenth, or hundredth (my students always need to practice this!)
I used the full value of pi and did not round until the end of the problem. If you want your students to use 3.14 for pi, you will need to adjust the answer key!
What you get:
☑ 20 color task cards
☑ 20 black and white task cards
☑ Student answer sheet
