Students discover the relationships between the volumes of cones, cylinders, and spheres in two different hands on activities. In the first activity, students construct cones and cylinders and then fill each with beads. They then compare the volumes to come up with the 1/3 relationship. The second activity involves using clay to compare the voluymes of cylinders and spheres. Practice problems, teacher directions, and mini posters are also included in this bundle. Aligned to common core standards for both grade 8 and high school geometry.
