In this scavenger hunt, students will calculate the volume of cylinders, cones, and spheres - in the form of objects they see everyday! The volume questions are presented using pictures including anything from a basketball to an ice cream cone.
This resource includes:
-9 real-world volume problems (3 of each shape) to be printed out and posted around the room
-A student worksheet in which students must identify the shape, write the formula, and show their calculations
-An answer key consisting of the correct order of problems
The sheets are currently in order, so that the question on the sheet is answered on the next page. The answer sheet includes a space to write in each of the volume formulas, to serve as a handy reference as students are up and moving around the room calculating these volumes!
