Volume of Prisms and Cylinders Lesson
In this lesson, students will learn the formula for volume of prisms, including cylinders.
• Warm-Up -
The warm-up is a problem where students must find the lateral area and surface area of a square pyramid.
• Guided Notes -
Two versions are included: mostly complete and fill-in-the-blank. The notes are 2 pages long. Examples are included throughout.
• In-Class Practice Presentation -
A PDF presentation is included to use as in-class student practice. Students could work the problems on whiteboards. Since it is a PDF, the "slides" could be written on using SMART software (or other similar software). There are 7 questions. The presentation is in the format of Question-Answer-Question-Answer-Etc.
• Homework -
The homework is 2 pages and 12 questions.
• Answer Keys -
Completely worked out answer keys are included.
