I created these 24 task cards so that my students could have practice finding the volume of rectangular prisms. Included in this set are 2 version of the answer document. In the first version, students will find the length, width, and height of each figure as well as determine the area of the base and the number of layers the figure has before determining the volume. This process aligns perfectly to TEKS 5.6B. The second version focuses strictly on the standard formula of L x W x H.
Typically, I like to use this activity as extra practice after we complete Hands On Volume Tasks (Freebie)
TEKS 5.6b - determine the volume of a rectangular prism with whole number side lengths in problems related to the number of layers times the number of unit cubes in the area of the base
