Presidential Election fun!
I always love when the Presidential Election rolls around because I have so much fun teaching about this amazing democratic process. I think it’s great to hold a mock election in your classroom or school. It’s interesting to find out who your students will choose and it’s a great introduction to the process of voter registration and voting.
I teach 5th grade, however, I usually include 3rd grade and 4th grade in my mock election. First, students must fill out and return the “Voter Registration Cards.” Right before the real voting day, I give out the election ballots and tally the votes. I think it’s exciting to have the winner of our school election announced on the same day that the new President-Elect is announced. I hope you enjoy this packet!
