Voting from Your Seat and Voting on Your Feet

“Voting from Your Seat” and “Voting on Your Feet” are low-prep, high-energy activities that keep every student engaged both mentally and physically.

They require students to reflect on a range of topics, designed to elicit a variety of viewpoints.

You can use these strategies to re-energize a class by posing easy topics…or you can use them as a segue to opinion/argument discussions and writings.

“Voting from Your Seat” requires less movement from students (best for classes that are already active) while “Voting on Your Feet” requires all students to move around the room.

All you need to get started is a set of position cards, and a few thought-provoking questions!
