Product Description
"Vowel Bingo" is a fun way for students to learn and practice the 18 vowel sounds of the English language that lead to better reading and spelling when mastered.

Game Overview:

The object of Vowel Bingo is for a player to win a “bingo” by placing his or her playing pieces accurately on the squares of his or her bingo card with a requisite number in a row for a “bingo”. Players must choose one of the graphemes (spelling) for the phonogram (vowel sound) called out by the game leader. There may be more than one way to spell the sound, so the choice of where to place a playing piece might be different between players. All correct spelling options are listed on the reference sheet used by the game leader. Each spelling is correct if it is listed on the reference sheet. The first player to call out “BINGO” with all squares correct wins the game.

Game Materials:

• Game instructions
• Bingo cards – 5 different versions
• Vowel sound reference sheet - includes the 18 vowel sounds with example words to aid in pronunciation of the sounds when leading the game
• Vowel Phoneme/Grapheme Chart – a teaching tool useful both before and after the game

While “Vowel Bingo” is useful in all classroom and home study environments, it is has been particularly effective as an RTI intervention tool, especially when working with dyslexics, those with other reading or spelling disorders, or ELL students. Explicit teaching, 100% memorization of the sounds, and associating the sounds and their graphemes (through a vehicle like Vowel Bingo) can mean the difference between a reader and a non-reader!

While I'm a seasoned veteran at teaching, I'm still pretty new to TpT and would really appreciate you taking the time to rate my product once you've tried it. Thank you!
