This is the vowel chart that I use with students in my small, intervention groups. Some of the pictures correlate with Fountas and Pinnel's Leveled Literacy Intervention System (LLI) in order to provide consistency.
I have this laminated and in a "strategy booklet" for each student at my table, along with reading strategies, alphabet linking chart, and consonant cluster linking chart. I encourage students to refer to the picture cues as they get stuck on a word when reading to help them with the sound and decoding of unfamiliar words.
I also send these home within their practice/take home bags to use as a reference and to encourage independence of implementing strategies when reading.
