This is a gameboard type game for identifying medial vowel sounds.
The pictures are for the words: pig, bug, hen, dog, dad, mom, pen, stick, flag, net, sick, sun, skate, bike, stop, duck, cat, tent, frog, and bus.
To make the game: Print game board and cards on cardstock. Laminate. Cut along the dotted line of the first page on the right side. Glue the 1st and 2nd pages of gameboard together so the lines match up.
To Play: I use math counting bears of varies colors as game pieces. Students put their game pieces on the ”start”. Children take picking a card and proceeding to the closest picture that matches the vowel on the card (example: if an “i” is picked on a child’s first turn they would move their game piece to the pig). Play continues until a student lands on the “finish”. Have fun!
