Are your students confused with the short vowel sounds of Ee and Ii? Here is a fun an engaging way to help them make that discrimination successfully. Through two multisensory activities, your students will hear, see, and say the vowels sounds /e/ and /i/ through pictures and letters.
There are 12 picture cards, 12 vowels, and 1 vowel card master.
Activity 1 guides students through the process of phoneme awareness in differentiating between pictures with short vowel sounds /e/ and /i/. Students will say the word and place the picture in the appropriate column.
Activity 2 has students visually discriminate along with saying the sounds of the short vowels e and i, making the visual connection tot he vowel sound more concrete and automatic. Students will say the sound as they match the vowel to the appropriate letter column.
