Do your students know the difference between a vowel and consonant? Do they get vowels and consonants mixed up easily? Here are some cute stars that you can print to help with this problem. Simply print the color you like best on tag board, add some spray adhesive if you like to add some glitter, laminate, and attach a clothespin to the back with hot glue. Then clip the stars onto your alphabet chart to identify each vowel. All stars say "vowel" except for the star for letter "y". It says "sometimes a vowel". Your students can refer to your alphabet chart easily to remember which letters are vowels and which are consonants. Every word they spell will surely have at least one vowel in it with this handy tool.
