Product Description
These pictures are commonly associated with short vowel sounds when using the orton-gillingham approach. With each picture, you can use a hand motion to help your students identify the keyword.

apple- hold out your hand as if you are holding an apple
edge- rub your hand along the edge of a desk
itch- scratch your arm
octopus- put your hand palm down on the table and move up and down like an octopus
up- point upwards

These are great little visuals to use when tutoring or teaching in small groups. They can also be sent home with students to help them with these vowel/picture/action associations. Just print on cardstock and cut the squares.
