This product serves as a great visual reminder of the multiple sounds made by vowels. It is available in both color and black and white. I would print and laminate two charts for each student (either color or bw) and have one in their writing folder and one in their reading folder as a quick reference. This chart is also useful for our second language learners as there is picture support. If you are lucky enough to be at a school with a color poster maker, I would make this into a chart and hang throughout the year! The poster with all the vowels measures 8.5 x 11. This idea came from Jennifer Serravallo’s 2015 The Reading Strategies Book-Over 300 Strategies Also, included are individual posters of the vowels as well as Y included as a vowel and title poster! These posters are landscape and 11 x 8.5. These can be displayed together or separately. The vowel pictures are as follows:
A-acorn/apple, E-elephant/eagle, I-ice cream/igloo, O-octopus/oval, U-unicorn/umbrella and Y-candy and fly demonstrating that at the end of a word the letter y becomes a vowel and makes two sounds; e and i.
**Tricky Vowels Chart is also sold separately!
