This file contains a set of large vowels to hang on the wall. Seeing the vowels separate from the entire alphabet helps young children who are just beginning to read.
As students are learning vowel sounds and beginning to decode CVC words, I write the words using black ink for the consonants and the corresponding colors for the vowels. It’s a simple way to remind students which letters are vowels.
I included “y” for those times when “y” acts as a vowel, but you can use it or not!
