These 28 differentiated activity sheets
will give your students practice writing words with long vowels, vowel teams (vowel digraphs), and r-controlled vowels.
First, students read a riddle. Then, they use the clues in the riddle to write a word in the letter configuration boxes that answers the riddle. Their answer must follow the phonics skill highlighted in the lesson.
Each activity sheet comes with three different versions.
In version 1, which is the most challenging version, students write in the entire answer. In version 2, the first letter of each answer is given, unless the word begins with a digraph, in which case, both letters are given. In version 3, the first letter of each answer is given, and, if the word begins with a digraph or a blend, both letters are given.
Answer keys are included.
