Do you need something fun and engaging for your students in small group to review short and long vowels? Here is a Freebie that will help you see who needs extra help hearing the vowels! I have seen this idea on teacher sites, but not sure who the "author" of this activity is! Not my original idea, but I LOVE it and made a template for me to use in my small groups. I thought you might like it too! I printed it on cardstock, laminated it, and grabbed a few clothespins! My students love it! I hope they enjoy this activity!
Cut out each strip of vowels horizontally to make 5 strips. Call out a short vowel or long vowel word to your students. The students can place a clothespin on the correct vowel that is heard in the word that you call out. You can also use a hole-punch on the circle, and the student can poke a pencil or straw through the correct hole. This can be used in a whole group or small group setting.
