Do you need to have students practice reading words with just one specific skill? Do you have a hard time finding something to read with just that skill? I had this problem all the time. I was constantly looking for decodable material for my struggling readers to practice their skills. This is what encouraged me to make mini-games! This game fits nicely into the read words portion of a lesson. It gives every student a chance to read, and they will have SO much fun doing it!
How to Use:
1. Print out the game. (I like to print my games on card stock so they last longer.)
2. Cut out the game cards.
3. Place the cards in a pile.
4. Have each student take turns drawing a card, and reading a word.
If they get a special card they do what is on the special card. (Go again, or lose a turn)
5. CELEBRATE! Because they are reading!
