All 159 of the cards come in SIX different versions:

- All letters are missing (3 or 4 empty circles) so they build the entire word (ex: _ _ _ _ )

- No letters are missing for struggling students to just match letters (ex: g o a t )

- The vowel team is missing (ex: g _ _ t )

- All but the vowel team is missing (ex: _ o a _ )

- The first letter is missing (ex: _ o a t )

- The last letter is missing (ex: g o a _ )

The following phonics sounds are practiced in this set:

ai, ay, ee, ea (long e), ea (short e), oa, ow (long o), ou, ow (ou sound), oo (as in zoo), oo (as in foot), oi, oy, au, aw, ew, ue, ui, ie (long i), and ie (long e)
