Are you looking for some hands-on phonics activities to teach vowel teams, but you don't have hours to laminate and cut-out vowel team word work cards? These hands-on, no prep digital vowel team word work cards will save you time and provide students with so many hands-on activities for covering vowel teams! This innovative, digital resource for vowel teams provides differentiated levels for word work!
Did I also mention it can be used on tablets? Say what? Yup, you can use this on a tablet, computer, or you can even project them with a SMARTboard! (SMARTboard use is an option, you don't need it to use this resource if you plan on simply using it on a computer or tablet.) *Tech specs below.
Not only that, but this resource stands out from simple games on tablets because it automatically saves their work. That means accessibility to view their phonics work for assessment purposes.
Do you need to cover more phonics skills? Check out my extreme bundle here that contains this resource for vowel teams and many others by clicking here.
This resource is the version for Google Slides use! I also have a PowerPoint version you can find by clicking here.
If you already use Google™ Classroom, you only need to simply assign students a file and you are set! It is simple like handing them a sheet of paper! I have broken these down into chewable chunks for each file, and I even got all your differentiation already organized for you too!

What I LOVE about Google Apps When It Came to Creating This Vowel Teams Word Work Resource:
•Their work saves automatically!
•Because their work saves automatically, I can easily check their work (and not bring home a heavy bag full of paper clutter!)
•They can't glue the expensive magnetic letters to a paper card, but they can save those digital magnetic letters on that card for easier assessing!
•Kids love using technology. It's engaging!
•It is still hands-on like a real word work card with magnetic letters. They still have to slide those letters on that card.
•All the letters are ALREADY organized! No messing with a bunch of letters in smeared, labeled baggies. This makes it so much easier for differentiating instruction without having to do a thing, except assign the appropriate file to each student! Easy, simple, bam! Now, that is what I am talking about!
•It can be used on a tablet too!
What about differentiation? For emerging, I paired letters together such as ai, ea, ue, etc. For intermediate levels, I upped the challenge by only providing individual letters that the students will need to pair together on the word work cards. For students who need even more challenge, they can type a sentence with the word on the slide.
There are some technical requirements to use this resource for vowel teams. First off, this resource is in Google Slides format, so you will need to access to that software to use this resource. Additionally, I highly recommend you have student accounts by using Classroom by Google. If you don't have Google Classroom, please get with your tech department to set this up before purchasing this resource. Yes, they do offer it free to non-profit educational institutions, but there are some hoops to get through. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS RESOURCE IF YOU DO NOT HAVE GOOGLE CLASSROOM SET-UP ALREADY. You will also need internet access to use this resource for vowel teams.
With that said, you can use this resource with Google Drive, however, Classroom allows you to assign students the activity and makes it so much more simple to use! There are also age restrictions with setting up a Google Drive account, but that is not an issue with Google Classroom. Please note, I provided a blogpost here with links for getting started with Classroom by Google. However, I still recommend you seek help from your tech department. Get to blog post here.
***For Interactive Whiteboard/ Smartboard use: To use any dragging/dropping features, your interactive whiteboard will need the feature that performs mouse functions with touch in programs outside of their software. Basically, the touch feature takes the place of how you would use a mouse in other applications such as Google Slides, surfing the internet, etc. If using. This feature that allows the computer to use touch on the screen to function like a mouse may sometimes only work in the software of whatever brand interactive whiteboard you are using, so make sure you can use that feature in other applications before purchase if you plan to use this resource on an interactive whiteboard.***
