This worksheet is a great way to check for understanding with vowel teams.
Each sentence has a vowel team in it, students have to underline the vowel team and draw an arrow at the vowel that talks. I like when they have to read them in sentences, instead of just flashcard words.
I teach that the first vowel talks and the second vowel walks. I teach that the vowel that talks says it's own name. That is why they point the arrow, to remind them of the sound. I use this is guided reading as a quick check assessment.
