I was working on answering "wh" questions with one of my students, and he had great success with "who, what and where" questions but continued to struggle with "when" questions. After practice identifying key words that answer when questions, something finally clicked for him and now he's a master of ALL "wh" questions!
This resource is designed to give students extra practice asking and answering “wh” questions by identifying key words. When a student can match the type of “wh” question word with potential answers, it will help them more accurately and easily answer questions. Print pages on cardstock for durability and laminate if you’d like to re-use pages over and over by having students use expo markers. Display only 1 line at a time and cover the remaining words for students who will find the entire page visually overwhelming and present pages 6-9 if students demonstrate difficulty.
