This unit was developed to help Speech Therapists, Special Education Teachers, and/or Regular Ed Classroom Teachers support students' skills with answering basic questions. It is well suited to students on the Autism Spectrum, students with language disorders, and students requiring intervention / differentiated instruction for question answering skills.

*2 posters/handouts on the developmental sequence for question answering skills; allows teachers to quickly determine which question types are typically more difficult for students.
*2 posters/handouts on scaffolding questions, 1 including a functional example, and 1 including an academic an example; helps teachers break questions down to support to students who struggle to formulate a response.
*"Rules for Answering Questions" student written and visual supports; provides support in teaching question answering skills to children with Autism and/or visual learners. Includes 3 posters and 12 individual student desk cards
*Visual supports for each of the 5 basic WH question types (Who, What, Where, When, Why)
*A handout aligning WH question skills to the CCSS
This product contains the following INTERVENTION ACTIVITIES / GUIDED PRACTICE EXERCISES:
*30 Question and Answer cards, with visuals. 6 question cards for each of the 5 basic WH question types. May be utilized as a cut and paste activity, or laminated with velcro applied for multiple uses
*WH Question Sorting Activity: includes a sorting mat and 30 visually based “answers.” Students determine which question type the answer addresses, then sort the pictures in to the correct question type category on the sorting mat.
