This unique approach to the planets uses the concept of RELATIVE SIZE to help young children understand how the size of Earth compares to the size of the rest of the planets. For example, if the earth were .7 inches in diameter, Neptune’s diameter would be 8 inches.
Each page of WHAT IF THE EARTH WERE ONLY THIS BIG? features a different activity, including fill-in-the-blank, coloring, charting, cut-and-glue, and more.
The book also includes “What if the Earth were the size of a marble?” which compares the relative sizes of the planets in terms of sports balls.
The final activity—WALK OF THE PLANETS—is an outdoor activity which answers the question, “If Mercury were one step from the sun, how many steps would it take to reach Neptune?”
Technical info: WHAT IF THE EARTH WERE ONLY THIS BIG? is illustrated with original sharp images at a minimum 300 dpi. The file is in PDF format.
