This Powerpoint includes 4 slides of multi-step equations. Each problem promotes students to WRITE their responses stating WHAT they are doing and WHY they are doing it. I am constantly working on including writing in math and this is just one way of doing it. Each step is set to animation in order to not showcase the steps too soon...to give kids a chance to get the steps on their own.
I used this in class after giving a test over multi-step equations. This was a good way for students to slow down with their equations, put some thought into their steps, and review why they were making the moves that they were in the equation.
