“What’s in the present?” is an interactive book that is great to use with students who are non-verbal or minimally verbal. Students are able to show their knowledge by finding the correct picture that answers a question. Then they just match it to the pictures using Velcro. For more verbal students, this book is great for working on vocabulary skills, expanding sentence length, answering questions, verbs, functions, attributes, etc. (You already KNOW how to make lessons fulfill many goals at a time!)
Students with Autism like this book!
THIS BOOK INCLUDES:
***10 colored presents
***10 matching colored items inside the presents. Kids can discover what’s inside the present by “opening it!”
*Optional Color flaps!-These are not essential as the pictures are designed showing one wrapped present and one matching opened present. However, if you want to create a “flap-book,” you can use the color flaps. They can be used to “hide” a toy inside the half opened present. Just cut these out and attach them to the presents with tape or Velcro and have kids “open” the presents!
**Or to save colored ink, just cut out the white squares included and use them to cover the presents…you could color those to match the presents.
** 2 HOMEWORK sheets with vocabulary pictures and room to write notes home about specific progress. These are great time-savers!
