WHERE IS ART? JUST LOOK AROUND! Students and teachers will have great fun with 8 hands-on, minds-on projects as they learn about the connections between art and design: Role-play and take part in a focus-group to explore the world of advertising; Learn about the American who invented mobiles and make an easy one for yourself; Work with color as it tries to trick us; Learn about Frida Kahlo and how her paintings are symbolic of her life; Think like an architect and design a theme park.
Contemporary Education Resources educators Kathleen Hamilton and Sarah Brinkley-Rogers have created lesson plans that use easy-to-find and inexpensive materials. All projects can be adapted to ages and abilities of students. Many of the projects have research and literary arts connections.
Art is everywhere and we hope you will have fun finding it!
